Chelsea Set To Make Urgent Move For Spain Shot Stopper After Begovic Poor Performance
EPL defending champions Chelsea yet again had a disappointing performance against the Toffees yesterday in which they were defeated by 3-1. Yesterday’s defeat means Chelsea still have just four points out of a possible 15 points.
According to reports from the Metro, the Blues are plotting a transfer move for out of favour Manchester United shot stopper Victor Valdes in order to compete with Begovic who had a poor outing yesterday.
This move is as a result of knee injury suffered by first choice shot stopper Thibaut Courtois who has been ruled out for about three months.
Valdes moved to United during last winter transfer window but his future with the Red Devil seems uncertain after his fellow country man David De Gea ended intense speculation by renewing his contract.
Should the Spaniard be able to force his way out of old Trafford, he would certainly be a good back up to Courtois and an abled competitor for place with out of form Begovic pending when Courtois will be back from injury.
