If a reports by metro is anything to go by, Chelsea may be on the verge of signing high rated Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester united target Isco from Real Madrid.
The high rated young Spanish international midfielder has found regular first team football hard to come by at Real Madrid and has been the source of intense media speculation.
Initial reports had linked the champions league winner to Liverpool with both Manchester United and Arsenal also credited with some interest in the player.
There have been reports that Real Madrid are ready to let the player go after signing Mateo Kovacic from Inter Milan and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is aware of this and is ready to take advantage of it to sign Isco who currently earns £60,000-a-week with Madrid.
Juventus are also interested in the player but Chelsea’s financial power will put the Blues at an advantage. Madrid are reportedly willing to sell the player for anything above £33.7m.
Although predominantly an attacking midfielder, Isco can also play the false nine role which probably means Mourinho sees him as a cheaper option to Antoine Griezmann who just this weekend had his release clause increased to 60 million. However, it must be stated that having proved himself playing in attack, many Chelsea fans will prefer their club to sign Griezmann ahead of Isco.
