Reports making the round claims Chelsea’s summer target Pedro has agreed a personal term with arch rival Manchester United for a move to Old Trafford.
According to Daily Star, the 28-year old attacker had made up his mind to leave Barcelona and join the Red Devil this summer amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester City. The report claims that personal agreement had been reached between Pedro and United and the only thing left is for the Red Devil to put the release clause of £21.3m on table.
It is also reported that the Red Devil chief executive Ed Woodward travel down to Spain yesterday to watch the 28-year old star in action during Barcelona Super Cup second-leg match against Athletico Bilbao
Speaking to Sky Sport La Liga expert Guillem Balague said the United chief executive will hold a talk with Barcelona today to conclude the deal for Pedro.
“I understand a deal between the player and United is already in place and all that is left is for United to put the €30m (£21.3m) on the table. They are just negotiating how they are going to pay it, with installments or an amount up-front.
“They are very close. I’m not sure whether Barcelona will try one last time with Pedro and say ‘don’t go’, but it seems his mind is already made up.”
This will be a big blow for the Blues who have been looking forward to getting the signature of the great attacker with so much experience. Pedro has scored a total of 58 goals in 204 appearances for the Catalan.
