Chelsea has completed the signing of high rated Arsenal target Baba Rahman from Ausburg in a deal said to be worth £21.7m. Although the Blues have officially announced the signing of the player, he is not able to play for the club yet due to a work permit issues which is now been sorted.
According to daily mail, Baba was given a tour of Chelsea’s training ground on Tuesday and the Ghanaian has been talking about how happy he is to have completed a move to Chelsea stating it is a dream move to a big club which he could not turn down.
Baba was pictured beaming at his unveiling during the tour of the training facility with technical directory Michael Emenalo. Talking to the club’s official vine account, Baba was quoted to have said; ‘I’m happy to be here, nice meeting you,’
While the Ghanaian’s message to the fans of his new club might have been short and sweet, his message to the fans of his former club was longer as he explained to them the reason behind his move to West London;
‘I have made this decision and it is really not easy because I felt good at Augsburg,’ the Ghana defender told the Augsburg’s official website.
‘But the move to England is a very big opportunity for me to play at a top club like Chelsea, so I would like to take this step. I am really looking forward to playing with many great footballers.’
He went on further to state how proud he was to have represented Ausburg as they qualified for the UEFA Europa league last season.
‘For me, last season was absolutely amazing,’ he said. I am very proud to have been a part of this fantastic team.
‘I want to thank the fans for their great support and wish the entire team all the best. I hope they have another successful season.’
