Promising Chelsea loaned player Nathan Ake has revealed that he has a high hope of playing for the London side next season according to The Express.
Breaking into the star studded Chelsea’s first team requires quality and Ake believes that his gains from playing regularly at Watford (where he is loaned to) could put him in the spot light for Jose Mourinho team next season.
Speaking to Watford Observer, Ake stated that he still has a good relationship with Jose Mourinho and that he hopes to return to Stamford Bridge in the nearest future.
“I spoke to the manager (Jose Mourinho) a little bit and he said I can stay and be around the team,”
“I told him I want to be playing a lot this season. He understood that.
“We have a good relationship. Hopefully, I can show him that next year I can come back and play for Chelsea.”
The Dutch under-21 player can operate as a defender or a midfielder. He made his debut for Chelsea senior team against Norwich City in December, 2012 having joined the youth set up of Chelsea from Feyenord in 2010. He was also part of chelsea team that won the UEFA Europa Cup in 2012/2013 season
Ake was voted Chelsea’s young player for 2012-2013 season. The 20-year old player completed a season-long loan move to Watford to continue his development during last summer transfer window.
The young starlet versatility can be seen in his ability to play numerous positions ranging from midfield to right back or left back position. Strong on the ball and good vision, Ake has been likened to former Dutch Star Rudd Gullit in recent times.
With Chelsea’s sloppy midfield play, recall of the versatile midfielder would not be a bad idea.
