In this clash of the Premier League titans, Chelsea go up against rivals Man City where Man City can go first with a win or Chelsea can go equal second with a win. Man City haven’t dropped any points this season at home in the premier league, and have scored an average of four goals per game. They scored absolutely annihilated Arsenal, Spurs, and Man Utd at home, so it was going to be a daunting task for Chelsea. Nonetheless we managed a wonderful win due to faultless tactics played from Mourinho. We made a sloppy start, with Man City unable to capatilize on this. Chelsea managed 18 attempts this match, to Man City’s 25 but Man City dominated possession 65% to 35%.
Petr Cech 8/10
Petr had a near flawless game though he made a sloppy start to this match. He made a couple of wonderful saves at the end of the game.
Branislav Ivanovic 9/10
Gary Cahill 8/10
Gary had shaky start to this match, but as it progressed he got better and better. He made some quality interceptions and blocked a couple shots towards the end of the match. He hit the post of a great header from a corner.
John Terry 8/10
John has had a great season so far in the Premier League. Although in tonights game, I felt he was slightly outperformed by Gary Cahill. Nonetheless he stayed played well, but was often caught out due to his lack of pace.
Cesar Azpilicueta 8/10
Cesar did a great job of keeping Jesus Navas quiet throughout the game. He was rarely caught out of position but did not help out in attack though.
David Luiz 7.5/10
David had an average game considering he has played well in the double pivot the past month. He tracked David Silva well but did not really do well in attack.
Nemanja Matic 8/10
Matic played well in his first start in the Premier League. His defence was of a high level all match and his passing was good. He was very unlucky to hit the crossbar off a wonderful shot he took.
Ramires had an average game on the right wing in this game. He was often sloppy in possession and his final touch was often too heavy. He made some good runs behind the City defence though.
Willian 7.5/10 (Subbed off 91st minute for Mikel)
I love Willian but this wasn’t his best performance. He was rather sloppy in possession and his final pass wasn’t the best. In general, Willian’s decision making was poor against Man City
Eden Hazard 8/10 (Subbed off in the 92nd minute for Ba)
Hazard had a good game again. He helped out defensively, drew fouls when Chelsea needed them, and he was gliding along the pitch without any trouble. He played a lovely pass through to Eto’o who cut it back to Ramires for an open goal, but Eto’o was called back for being offside.
Samuel Eto’o 8/10 (Subbed of 81st minute for Oscar)
Eto’o had a very good game against Man City. He caused havoc for the city defence and was unlucky to hit the cross bar even though it was an open goal.
Oscar did well after he was substituted on for Eto’o. In the 10 minutes he was on, Oscar nearly earned Nastasic a red card and altogether was a handful for the City defence.
John Obi Mikel N/A
Was only on for 2 minutes
Demba Ba N/A
Was only on for the last corner of the game.
