Chelsea’s Serbian defender Branslav Ivanovic is set to be offered an improved FOUR year contract. The Blues are opening talks with Ivanovic’s advisers and Jose Mourinho has so far this season identified him as a key member of the starting line as well as one of the influential characters in the dressing room.
The Serbian has two more years to run on his current deal which expires in 2016. The 32 year old has been brilliant for Chelsea this season by starting every single game in the premier league in the right back position he has made his own. His flexibility in to slotting into as a CB as well has caught the eye of many managers while his combative attitude on the pitch has made a fan favorite at Stamford bridge.
Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, who are managed by Carlo Ancelloti who has worked with Ivanovic for two years at Chelsea, are the main clubs interested in his services. Both suitors though are set to be disappointed in their chase as the player has long been settled at C0bham and would want to remain at Stamford Bridge.
