Welcome To Stamford Bridge: Chelsea On The Verge Of Signing World Cup Star

Reports surrounding Stamford Bridge has it that Marco Amelia the ex-AC Milan goalkeeper would sign for the club subject to his trial result according to Sky sports.

The free agent, goalie who once played for Ac Milan was invited for trial with the idea of having him as a cover to the goalkeeping position should Asmir Begovic be suspended or injured.

Although Young Chelsea goalie Jamal Blackman is available, Jose Mourinho is believed to be interested in bringing in another goalkeeper for a short period to add experience and quality to the team.

Although Amelia was a second choice goalkeeper at AC Milan with Christian Abbiati picked ahead of him in most matches, however, his wealth of experience could still be useful to Chelsea.

The 6 ft. 3 inch Italian Shot stopper was part of the Italian squad that won 2006 FIFA World Cup and also participated in Euro 2008. Amelia became a free agent on 1 July 2014 and last played for Perugia in Italy.

Chelsea have started this season poorly and are eager to turnaround  their season as soon as possible as they are currently in the 16th position on the log seeking to close the 10 points gap with which leaders Manchester City sit at the top of the table
