Chelsea have been given major boost in the pursuit of their summer target Paul Pogba, after report from Italy claims that the powerful midfielder has not enter any agreement with Spanish giants Barcelona for a potential winter move.
It was earlier reported that the 22-year old star had reached personal agreement with Barcelona but while speaking with Italian media house Le 10 Sport, Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola debunk the rumour and started that his client has no agreement with the Catalan giants..
“An agreement with FC Barcelona? Absolutely not,” said Raiola
“Those who want him should sit with Juventus and then we’ll see.
“This summer, there were three or four clubs interested, but he chose to stay at Juventus.”
This is definitely a big boost for Chelsea to get their man during the winter (“Those who want him should sit with Juventus and then we’ll see”). Chelsea have started the season on a woeful note and much of the criticism has been directed to Chelsea’s defense and midfield.
The trio of Oscar, Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic has been below par this season. Oscar has even fallen down the pecking order in resent time with Mourinho preferring fellow Brazilian Ramires in the holding midfield role.
However, Chelsea would have to battle fellow premier League Manchester United and Manchester City for the powerful box-to-box midfielder signature in the winter transfer market.
Should Roman Abramovich be ready to splash the cash, Chelsea would probably be the next destination for Pogba, given that Manchester City already bought Kevin de Bruyne during the summer and Pogba may likely not want to go back to Manchester United after failing to excel there during sir Alex Ferguson tenure.
