Every Chelsea fan knows the club is in trouble if by chance Alvaro Morata has to miss several weeks of action. Although we have Michy Batshuayi, the Belgian is simply not good enough to carry all the goal scoring burden on himself in the absence of Morata.

Hence latest chelsea roundup has linked the club with the signing of one striker to the other. In recent weeks, it was Ciro Immobile of Lazio that has been linked. The former Dortmund player has been one of Serie A best strikers so far this season however it is very unlikely that Lazio will let him go midway into the season.

And it seems Chelsea manager Antonio Conte knows this and is considering his options. To this end, reports have it that the Italian is ready to make an offer for Arsenal’s striker Olivier Giroud to act at back up to Morata. The Frenchman has found starting berths hard to come by at Arsenal this season after the Gunners signed Alexandre Lacazette from Olympic Lyonnais in the summer.

Giroud was last summer thought to be on his way out of the Emirates with the likes of Everton, West ham and Olympic Marseille all linked with his signing. He in the end decided to remain at Arsenal but could consider leaving in the winter transfer window if he continues to be benched. But do Chelsea really need him? Giroud is a good goal scorer and his hold up play is superb but for a club challenging for the title, Giroud is certainly not good enough.

He should do well at clubs such as Crystal Palace, Everton and their likes but not at a club like Chelsea. If we are to sign any Arsenal player, it should be Alexis Sanchez. Although Sanchez is not an out and out striker, he is certainly a good goal scorer and can replace Morata in attack if need be. And aside the fact that he will be a good replacement for Morata if/when the Spaniard is injured, he will also be a massive upgrade on both Pedro and Willian on the wings. He can play both on the left and right flanks which means he and Hazard can easily interchange positions in-match.

Imagine an attack line with Morata, Hazard and Sanchez as the arrowhead and Cesc Fabregas and the others creating chances for them? Conte can make it possible especially considering Sanchez’s contract saga ongoing at Arsenal at the minute.

Chelsea despite being fourth on the Premier league table, nine points behind Manchester City, Chelsea are still some bookies favourites for the EPL title.  Using free bet offers, I have a small bet on the Blues finishing top two in the league. Mourinho however has other plans. And his plan could well derail Chelsea’s title bid if he succeeds.

We all know when Mourinho likes a player, it doesn’t matter how long it takes, he ends up getting his man. And he is never scared to sign players from his former clubs or his ex players who have changed clubs. A recent example is the signing of Matic from Chelsea.

The Portuguese first re-signed Matic for Chelsea after rejoining the club four years ago. Due to the amount of money involved then, the deal felt foolish especially considering he was a Chelsea player before leaving for Benfica.

The Serbian however dismissed all doubts about him and helped the Blues to the Premier league title. Unfortunately Mourinho’s second season in charge was not good enough and he was rightly sacked by Roman Abramovich.

He moved a year later to Manchester United and last summer signed Matic from Chelsea. And just like it was the case at Chelsea, Matic has been one of Manchester United’s key players so far this season. Mourinho is however not done with Chelsea players. After being linked in the last two transfer windows with the signing of Willian, it appears Mourinho is ready to reunited Cesc Fabregas with himself at Manchester United.

The former Arsenal player has been one of Chelsea’ best players so far this season but he has only one year left on his contract and with no talks of a new deal forthcomingt the 29-year-old could well be leaving. What will however be disappointing is if he will be joining our direct rivals.

Knowing Mourinho, he is likely to make a big money offer for the La Masia product. And if he does, will Chelsea reject such an offer? I sincerely have my doubts. Although he is already 29 and may have just about 3 years of top flight football left on him, I still think Chelsea could do with him for at least two more years.

In my personal opinion, it will make sense to give him another two years contract rather than losing him to a direct rival.

Diego Costa has had a good innings at Chelsea but it is now the right time for both parties to part ways. There is too much bad blood between Costa and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte and an unhealthy relationship between the manager and his players is the last thing that Chelsea need right now.

Remember what happened near the end of Jose Mourinho’s second stint at the helm? That simply cannot happen again…

Instead, Chelsea must focus on Alvaro Morata. The Blues paid a club record fee of around £70 million to sign the Spain international from Real Madrid and Conte will be expecting big things from him in the coming months.

Chelsea fell short against Burnley on the opening weekend but Morata was perhaps the one shining light in what was a woeful performance as the Spaniard bagged a goal and assisted David Luiz for Chelsea’s second.

For the most part of the summer, most Chelsea supporters were under the assumption that Romelu Lukaku would return to Stamford Bridge ahead of the new Premier League season but the Belgium striker decided to sign for Manchester United instead.

By the token, Morata looked destined to move to Old Trafford but ended up signing for Chelsea – and you could argue that the Blues ended up with the better deal.

Because although Lukaku has the advantage of Premier League experience, Morata appears to be a much better fit for Conte’s system. To play for Chelsea, you need to be prepared to work hard and Morata brings vibrant energy to the side.

Not only that but his goal scoring record, considering he was playing backup to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale at Real Madrid, is excellent. With 103 goals in 271 competitive appearances throughout his career, Morata is a natural finisher and he will flourish once Eden Hazard and Pedro return from injury.

The Blues may have lost to Burnley on the opening weekend but it would be foolish to read too much into that defeat – Conte’s side ended up with nine men after an ill-disciplined performance. We will learn much more about Chelsea in the next month or so…

Plenty of punters will be backing the Blues to respond quickly and the defending champions will be quietly confident of retaining their title.

Oddschecker writers tipped Chelsea to beat Burnley without conceding on the opening weekend but the Blues will feature prominently in their tips over the course of the campaign – and rightly so. Let’s not get too carried away just yet, we are only one game into the new Premier League season after all.

Chelsea fans, don’t hit the panic buttons just yet. Conte is an excellent manager and the Blues are still in with a solid chance of winning the title once again.

With a number of players set to return in the coming weeks, Morata may explode into life and he could challenge for the Premier League Golden Boot. Costa led the line superbly for some time but it is now Morata’s time to take over the mantle.

Chelsea have a challenge on their hands to defend their Premier League crown as Antonio Conte looks to become the first manager in eight years to win back-to-back titles.

The Blues were dominant in the top flight last season, romping to their fifth crown in the last 14 years. Antonio Conte impressed with his tactical nous and man-management, providing a stark contrast to the team that gave up on Jose Mourinho the season before.

Conte’s brought the best out of Eden Hazard and Diego Costa up front – the two players whose form had dropped drastically in the previous campaign to the detriment of the entire side. David Luiz, Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta formed a strong unit at the back, highlighting the Italian’s ability to work on the fly, with his three-man defensive system delivering immediate success.

Problems have emerged this summer, with Costa reportedly on the verge of a move away from Stamford Bridge. The club missed out on Romelu Lukaku as the Belgian moved to Manchester United, and although Alvaro Morata was signed instead, the Spaniard did not have the best of starts in a Chelsea shirt in the Community Shield.

Morata does have pedigree at the highest level, scoring 16 goals for Real Madrid last season in their surge to the La Liga title. However, whether the 25-year-old can fill the potential void vacated by Costa is another matter to spearhead Chelsea’s attacking play on his own without the support of Real’s talented midfield and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Morata

Hazard’s injury problems have made life even more difficult for Conte, who will once again need to be at his best to keep Chelsea at the top of the table. The Blues are backed in thelatest Premier League betting odds at 7/2 to retain the title, although the challenge they will face from Manchester City and Man United will ensure that the race goes down to the wire.

Further reinforcements could strengthen Chelsea’s claim to go back-to-back, with reports linking the club with moves for Ross Barkley, Danny Drinkwater and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Conte’s starting line-up does not need a great deal of improvement to win the Premier League, but the added factor of additional matches in the Champions League will put his squad under duress.

Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger are like-for-like replacements for Nemanja Matic and John Terry, while the defensive depth has been depleted as Kurt Zouma moved to Stoke on loan. If Conte and the club’s recruitment staff are unable to bolster the numbers of the squad, especially at the back, it could leave Chelsea exposed in the latter stages of the campaign.

The next couple of weeks could be vital for the Blues’ hopes of reclaiming the crown, with the pressing need for new additions at Stamford Bridge. Otherwise, the pressure will be on Conte once again to deliver magic with his current squad, which with the added duress of the Champions League may prove to be too much for the Italian to handle on four fronts.

The likes of Chelsea and Manchester United failed Radamel Falcao! That is the word being spewed out of Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev.

When Radamel Falcao joined the Premier League, the Manchester United faithful were buzzing, serenading themselves whilst come even went as far as composing songs in his name.

Fast forward to the end of the season, United were now in a hurry to offload the ‘messiah’ who was meant to deliver the goals. Perhaps, a brief history on the player would justify such move.

Falcao has always had a big money move attached to his name. Ever since his €40 million transfer to Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2011, the player has had a big money move attached to his name.

In 2013, he joined Monaco for a fee in the region of €60 million where he was fairly impressive, with 11 goals in 20 appearances in his first season, so it was not out of place for the United to sign him.

He joined them on a season-long loan with the option of making the move permanently for £43.5 million (€55 million) at season’s end. His move was hugely disappointing, as Falcao failed to justify his £265,000-a-week package.

He only managed four goals in 26 appearances for the Red Devil and that meant he would leave once his contract with them runs. His form for Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea was not brighter, so much so that even a punter would not place his money on Falcao reaching the 10-goal mark -he scored four goals that season.

However, Vasilyev feels the Premier League clubs were not patient with the Columbian international.

“Both clubs in England failed to relaunch him,” Vasilyev told the Daily Mail via ESPN.

“I don’t know whether Manchester United and Chelsea did not have the patience or the desire to do that but I am quite sure this year we will see Falcao at his previous best.

“He is the same Falcao as ever. We’ve seen that in preseason. He scores goals, he’s there and he is motivated, we are motivated and I think this will be his year.”

“You have to be patient but the big clubs have other topics on their agenda,” Vasilyev said.

“If you sign a player of this magnitude after a big injury it takes time and games to get him back into shape.

“This is what we will do and what Manchester United and Chelsea didn’t do, failed to do or didn’t want to do.

“We all see the qualities are there and it is a matter of time. Monaco will make every effort and you will see a very different Falcao this season to the one you saw in England.”

Falcao is back to Monaco so all eyes will be on him to get back to his Atletico’ form where he banged 20+ goals in the two consecutive seasons he spent in Spain.

Anything far from that would mean his Agent, Jorge Mendes, is actually the one pushing his client’s CV to the top clubs rather than Falcao delivering the good. We are watching.

With less than a month to the closing of summer transfer window, latest report claims that Chelsea long-term target John Stones has completed a move to Manchester City.

This report is according to Sky Sports which claims that the highly rated Centre back signed a six-year contract with the Citizens which will keep him at Etihad Stadium until 2022.

Speaking to ManCity.com, the England international expresses his joy in his new challenge and promises to improve his game in order gain a starting place in City star studded squad.

“I’m absolutely delighted to sign for City and now the deal’s done I’m looking forward to the next stage in my career. Said Stones

“I’ve obviously seen what’s going on here at the Etihad, it’s an ambitious Club with a great manager so I can’t wait to get stuck in and help achieve the goals.

“I know it will be tough getting a place in this team but I’m determined to become the best player I can be and help us to success.

“I had a wonderful time with Everton and wish them and their fans all the best but now I’ll give my all for City.”

The tough tackling defender was tipped to succeed Skipper John Terry at Stamford Bridge last season but the Toffees turned down Chelsea’s offers to sign the promising star.

Stones who has been given Jersey number 24 is now the eighth signing for the Citizens in this year summer transfer window, under the new manager Pep Guardiola.

With Spain international goal poacher Diego Costa the only reliable and fit striker the Blues have right now, Dutch tactician Guus Hiddink is reportedly keen on adding more attacking option to his team this winter transfer window.

Latest report according to the Metro claims that the Premier League defending champions are keen on luring AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca to Stamford Bridge, as a possible replacement for French striker Loic Remy.

The clinical and energetic forward has been on fine form for the Serie A side this season, having found the back of the net eight times in league games.

It will be recalled when Spanish football expect Guillem Balague reveals earlier that Bacca could make a shock move to  Premier League for a new challenge with various casinos online sites shortening the odds of the player joining Chelsea.

bacca

“He likes the idea of coming to the Premier League, of course he has been abroad for a few years and would be happy to continue that Progression abroad”. Said Balague

The 29-years old colombian moved to AC Milan last year summer from La Liga side Sevilla in a reported fee of €30 million.

His fellow Colombian striker Radamel Falcao is currently out injured for about six to eight weeks as confirmed by AS Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev, after under-going medicals with his Parent club last week in a bid to return back to Monaco.

Carlos who is skillful and energetic with Blistering pace will definitely be a good addition to Chelsea’s team and he would not find it difficult to adapt to the fast game of Premiership.

However, his age could be a limiting factor in striking a deal for the star, as he is gradually fading out.

Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink has restated that he would leave his post at the end of the season. While speaking in a Press conference as the club prepare to host Scunthorpe in the English FA Cup. The Coach said :

“I’ve put two dates in my mind, which is May 21 and 28, and then it’s finished. Then I can go home on the 29.

“Those dates are FA Cup (final) and Champions League (final). We made it very clear that at the end of this, then I will stop.”

The coach manage the team in 2009 after Felipe Scolari was fired, he led to the team to FA Cup glory before he departed.

The Coach also reacted to the training bust up between Costa and Oscar, he said :

“It was a pity that our photographer yesterday had a day off because he could have shot beautiful pictures from the two, let’s say, bulls who were chesting a bit after a charge from behind from the smaller bull, which was Oscar,” said Hiddink, whose side host third-tier Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.

“He (Costa) took a charge from behind and it was overdone, especially when you know Oscar. He is not the biggest tackler of the team and he got Diego.

“And of course, then they stumbled over the ground, stood up as a normal reaction and then chested a bit without any further seriousness or threat of punching or whatever. It was more the threat of two bulls.

“After that, Oscar apologized in front of the group. He wanted to speak. I said, ‘Take the podium.’ He apologised for his over-reacting and then they looked at each other and they started laughing. I think it’s OK.

“Jokes were made already afterwards, so it’s normal. We are used to playing on a high intensity. It happens, so it’s solved.”

Chelsea are said to be rekindling a bid for Everton and England International defender John Stones. Stones have been courted by the West London club all through last summer but met stiff resistance from Everton as they wade off all bids from the Club.

Latest report claims that Chelsea have tabled another bid of £45 million for the player this January. the player is said to be valued around £45 million to £50 million and it is believed Chelsea are ready to lure the player with an increase in his wages as part of the offer.

Stones is highly rated and considered as the future of England defence, could be the natural heir to John Terry as the Chelsea captain gradually draws the curtain to his footballing career to a close.

Meanwhile, Chelsea might be in a transfer battle with Spanish super powers as Real Madrid and Barcelona are keen on getting the ball playing defender. The player according to Daily Mail fits into the Barcelona play system as he possesses the ability to initiate attack from defence with his excellent passing and ball interception.

A move for the England star could halt Everton top four bids this season, as he is considered a key component to the Everton team this season. Much would be on the coach Javi Martinez and the board to keep the player or cash in on the player now that his value has skyrocketed.

He further stated that a lot of clubs and agents are also monitoring Xavi situation and they have made tempting offers to sign the star.

‘Agents are everywhere,’ said Simons.

‘Even at a younger age they were starting to approach me making offers for Xavi, asking to be his agents, offering shoes and contracts and money like you can’t imagine. We don’t need any of that just now. We are trying to keep them away, in a polite way.
