A DM Finally? Chelsea Set To Sign POWERFUL 5ft 10″ DM

In a very unusual twist to this year’s transfer window Chelsea arereportedly expected to edge out West Ham in the race to sign former Leicester City player Esteban Cambiasso.

The Argentine player turned down a contract offer from Leicester City after an impressive season at the club which saw the Argentine win the Player of the Year award.

The 34 year old free agent who is always being touted by Aston Vila and Tottenham has reportedly emerged as a surprise target for Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

Cambiasso who was a key member of Jose Mourinho’s 2009/2010 Inter Milan team that won the treble. The Portuguese boss is reportedly keen to be re-united with his former player. However it is very unlikely for Chelsea to sign a player like Esteban Cambiasso.

Admittedly the Argentine is a very intelligent, versatile and complete midfielder  equipped with many amazing qualities like stamina, passing range and vision and great tackling ability.  But Cambasso is way past his prime and Chelsea have no use for a player like that in their midfield.

Although Cambiasso was very important to Leicester City last year showing sparks of his former self that helped them avoid relegation but the Argentine does not possess the required quality at this point in his career to compete in a team like Chelsea.

So therefore I would not pay much attention to this rumour and count it as one of those ridiculous transfer stories. Cambiasso of Inter Milan will be a quality addition to the Chelsea team not the Cambiasso of now.
