Abramovich To Sanction Move For 6ft CB After An Impressive Champions League Display

Chelsea would be raiding PSG of centre back Marquinhos in the January transfer window. According to the telegraph, the £25,000 a week star could be joining the London side if assured of first team football as he has been relegated to back up at PSG.

Marquinhos was very impressive in his performance during the midweek, when he played the whole 90 minute in the Champions League game between his team PSG and Real Madrid.

PSG Coach Laurent Blanc has preferred a defensive partnership of Thiago Silva and David Luiz. The player has been most times deployed as a make shift right back or defensive midfielder.

Chelsea target John Stones proved too difficult to get in the summer as his club Everton refused to sell their defensive man and had made Chelsea to look elsewhere for a defensive cover.

The Blues has conceded more than the amount of goals conceded all through last season this term and has made Mourinho to come under pressure.

It is said that Marquinhos outstanding performance in the Champions League this week could prompt Jose Mourinho and Roman Abramovich to start negotiation for the Brazilian star.

The tactical and disciplined defender could help restore Chelsea back to their invincibility of last season. The player was advised by his compatriot Alex, to join another team as his lack of playing time could hinder his future with the Selecao (the Brazilian national team).

Jose Mourinho recently dropped Hazard in order to help restore stability at the back for the club. West ham will play host to Chelsea in the EPL this weekend and the Mourinho men would seek to continue their resurgence to the season.
