Almost Done- Player Club Confirmed It: 6ft 2 Prolific Striker To Sign For Chelsea In January (Not Teixeira)
Chelsea hope of luring in their former player and Club legend Didier Drogba to Stamford Bridge in January has been handed massive boost, after his MLS club Montreal reveals that they are out of control in keeping the star at MLS next season.
The highly rated forward was a key player for Montreal last season scoring 12 goals in 12 appearances in his debut season.
Speaking concerning Chelsea interest in luring Drogba back to Chelsea in the winter, Montreal tweeted:
He has a “desire to help” his old club.
“We understand his attachment, but our objective is to have him back for another season,” Montreal tweeted.
“We are doing everything we can to have him back with the Impact in 2016,”
“We are willing to accommodate him. This situation is out of our control.”
It will be recalled last week after Chelsea 3-1 victory over Sunderland that new Manager Guus Hiddink reveals, that it will be great to have such influential player as Drogba in his coaching team.
“I worked with him five or six years ago and I was delighted to have such a professional in the squad,” the Dutchman said.
“He’s a legend already in this club. The only thing is at the moment is that he’s playing in Montreal.
“The official process I don’t know but I spoke openly from the bottom of my heart that huge impact players can be key for the club.”
Should Chelsea be able to lure the Drogba away from his MLS club Montreal in January, the highly experienced star would serve as great motivator to Chelsea boys, given that he has won practically all the major titles with the Blues during his reign at Stamford Bridge.
