Bad News: Chelsea To Lose Key Target John Stones To European Giants

If rumour making the round is anything to go by, then Chelsea are set to lose out on summer target John Stones to Real Madrid with reports claiming that the Spanish giants have made the 21-year old star their target come January transfer window.

This is according to Spanish newspaper AS via Daily Star who claims the Los Blancos are looking forward to securing the services of the 21-year old England international as Manchester United continue to monitor their own defender Varane.

United are keen on strengthening their defense line after missing out on summer target Sergio Ramos over the summer and with the cordial relationship they have with Madrid, they could be given the go-ahead to sign the French man.

Madrid sees Stones as good replacement for Varane should the Red Devil sign him in January. Chelsea failed to land Stones over the summer after seeing four bids turned down by the Toffees.

It was reported that Stones even handed a transfer request to Everton management in other to join the Blues but was turned down with the Toffees boss Roberto Martinez insisting the powerful defender is a key asset to them this summer. Athough the boss later admitted the young star could leave in the future.

“There are right times and wrong times to lose players and at this moment John Stones is paramount in everything we do”, said Matinez last week.

This new development is certainly not a good news for both Chelsea’s fans and even Chelsea’s management who are still keen on getting their main target come January.
