Chelsea have reported completed the transfer of Ausburg left back Abdul Baba Rahman after an agreement had been reached between both clubs.
According to Daily Mail, Chelsea have agreed a deal worth up to £21.7million with the Ghanaian left back. It is also reported that the Blues will pay an initial fee of £14million before a further £3.5m in bonuses depending on Chelsea’s performances, £700,000 after Rahman completes 20 games and a further £3.5m after he has made 100 appearances.
Rahman has been a major target for the Blues since the departure of Brazilian star Felipe Luis to Atletico Madrid and should this deal go through, the 21-year old star would be a great contendant for the left back position.
But with the recent poor performance of Branislav Ivanovic display on the opening day of Premiership, I wont be surprise if Mourinho deploys Cesar Azpilicueta to his traditional right back and the Ghnaian star to the Left back position.
Ivanovic was the best right back player in the EPL last season, but it all seems now the 31-year old defender has lost his pace and concentration.
