Chelsea Star Scores Double For England Under 21s

The Three Lions Under 21s defeated Austria 5-1 at Milton Keynes’ Moo Camp last Tuesday. Aidy Boothroyd’s Young Lions gored their way to top their group in the Euro 2021 qualifiers.

Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi played like a teenager eager to make a full England squad again as he ended the match against Austria with two classy finishes. The 18-year-old Blues player, who had two senior caps last season, showed the Young Lions boss and the rest of the world that he is fully behind his injury woes. His two brilliant goals proved that he is fit and is finally back to action.

The Chelsea winger ruptured his Achilles tendon while Chelsea was playing Burnley last season. The injury sidelined him for almost six months. Since his return, Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard featured him four times.

Boothroyd said that he is hoping that Hudson-Odoi continues to show his amazing performance.

“For a player who has been in the senior team and came back down, he could have been a bit moody, but he has been first-class on and off the pitch.

“Sometimes you can try too hard to make things happen and they don’t come off, but what he did for us tonight was exceptional.”

The two goals were Callum’s firsts at this level, and has now found the back of the net five times including the three against Grimsby Town in September.

Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah also bagged a hat-trick to fully dominate the game. With the Hudson-Odoi performance, he will be shoo-in for Chelsea when the international break ends and The Premier League games resumes.
