Chelsea are linked with a surprise move for West ham striker Dimitri Payet, according to reports.
The Dailystar reports that the Blues are among the clubs who are lurking around for the services of the 29-year-old. This comes as a shock since there were no prior reports suggesting that the Antonio Conte-led side were interested in him.
The incoming manager is currently managing the Italy squad at the Euros but it is reported that he has Payet in his wishlist of players he would love to work with at Stamford Bridge. Bookmakers have all started reducing the odds of Payet joining Chelsea which tells a story.
However, with the attacker marshalling it out for France at the Euros where he has scored two sublime goals in the two group games thus far, it is not farfetched why they are making a move for him.
The Mirror reports that West Ham are aware that the player could move for pastures green despite just joining them last summer, and they are making moves to see that he stays at the club nest season. But it remains to be seen whether they can convince him not to leave this season.
Chelsea are known to splash the cash and it won’t come as surprise should the Payet leave this season.
Meanwhile Real Madrid are also reported to be frontrunners in the chase for the France international.
