Good & Bad News: £47m Rated Star On His Way To Chelsea To Replace Oscar, Abramovich Desperate To Redeem His Club After Poor Starts
Athletico Madrid attacker Antoinie Griezmann could be a Chelsea player as the transfer market draws closer. Reports according to Daily Mail admitted that Roman Abramovich is a big admirer of the Frenchman and he wants him at Chelsea come January 2016.
Griezmann joined Athletico Madrid from Real Sociedad in 2014 and has notched up to 63 appearances in all competitions so far with 31 goals.
It is reported that Chelsea could activate the player’s buyout clause which stand at £47 million in order to bring him to London.
With questionable performances from Oscar, the player could be a direct replacement for the Brazilian who could be shown the exit door.
The arrival of Griezmann could help bring back sharpness to the attacking line that have lacked creative spark this season. Much of Chelsea goals this season have come from set piece which hasn’t gone down well with Mourinho.
The player who could play as a centre forward, behind a striker or on the wings could be the magic for their ailing season.
With his speed and eye for goal, the French international could form a perfect partnership with Diego Costa upfront making it difficult for defenders to cope with their pacey movements.
