In the Papers: Transfer Talk and More

In the papers this week with some more interesting stories:
Chelsea are set to hand Frank Lampard a 12-month contract extension.
I found this in the Daily Mail and Daily Star. In the Daily Mail it says he has been offered while in the Daily Star he has signed it. Im going to go with the Daily Mail story as more believable. He deserves a new contract he has scored vital goals for us (2x Villa) and set up a few goals as well. If he does get offered a new deal and he signs it does this mean Mourinho is coming back? I think so, Lampard and Terry will be at Chelsea after this season if Mourinho does come home.
Chelsea are ready to fight Manchester City for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, who has a £52m buyout clause in his contract with the Italian club.
I found this in the Sun. I don’t really want Cavani, don’t get me wrong he is good but so god damn expensive and I’d like to see what wages we are paying for him. He is also in his late 20’s so we could get a striker half that price and a good few years younger.
Midfielder Frank Lampard has revealed that Chelsea have not practised penalties ahead of the final.
I found this in the Daily Mirror. In all fairness I am a bit surprised as I thought we would of been practicing as a just in case. Hope it doesn’t go to Penalties though I can see either team winning it in the 90minutes, and hopefully it will be us winning and lifting th trophy.
Chelsea defender Ashley Cole, 32, will be invited to captain England against the Republic of Ireland on May 29 in honour of his 100th cap.
I found this in the Daily Mail. I can actually see Cole turning this offer down as he doesn’t like to be in the spot light that much. I think he will happily lead the team out but not actually captain them Eventhough it would be an honour to captain the National Side.
Chelsea won the Europa League in dramatic fashion in Amsterdam last night as Branislav Ivanovic headed a winner in stoppage time.
This is everywhere. Congratulations to the team and Rafa. They played poor in the first half but in the Second Half there must of been some words said by Terry and Lampard at half time in the dressing room as we came out a different team in the second half.
Chelsea’s Belgian attacker Eden Hazard says he would welcome the chance to work with Jose Mourinho, who has been linked with the manager’s job.
I found this in the Daily Express. I can see Mourinho turning him into a smaller version of Ronaldo or Messi. He has the same qualities as them just not as refined, he has great potential and I hope he achieve’s it while at Chelsea as he is and will be for a long time an integral part of our team.
Frank Lampard lifted the Europa League for victorious Chelsea last night after a stunning late victory and is set for further reward with a new one-year contract extension to stay at Stamford Bridge set to be confirmed.
I found this in the Independant. I can see this happening as in his post-match interview you could see the smile when he was asked about the contract so I do believe he has been given a new contract he just hasn’t signed it yet.
Frank Lampard signs a new one year deal.
I found this everywhere. To say I am pleased is an understatement. He deserve’s this so much and if he can score 11 goals in the League between now and end of the 2014 season he will overtake Theiry Henry as a PL all time goalscorer. Congratulations Frank.
I sincerely hope that neither the owner nor the club are still a kind of total insanity since the news came out about joining Cristiano Ronaldo our club. For more than once happened to us is the same and I do not see where our team of fans would like it to something else for the players in the age of 29 spend 100 million. We hope to have a reason, because it would have to happen at the expense of players in teak as Mata and Hazard !
Everybody is so happy with Mourinho’s coming back. Is there someone who could explain me why he’s always so nervous and why his players are so nervous too? Did you see RM-ATM Copa del Rey Final? Red card for JM and red card for CR. We need tranquillity, order, calm and stability. Do you really think he’s the right man? I hope so but I’m not sure.
ps Courtois is a CFC player and at the moment he’s one of the best GK in Europe..
One match and you talk like he is not gr8?!! Do I need to mention his achievements over the years.. seriously dude.. u need to cure your long term memory loss problem..
It was just an impression. I think he’s still one of the best in the world but during the last year (not only a single match) he was a little bit nervous and Real Madrid with such a team didn’t win any title. Maybe he didn’t find the right mood with RM players. That’s it.
Real Madrid has had better teams before and they still lack consistency. Reason being they got these big players who have got big egos.. and the club fulfills their every need. Thats y problems keep cropping up at Madrid. Just like our club’s problem is the board interfering in team matters rather than supporting the manager.. Still he managed three trophies in 3 yrs.. For me thats commendable. .
As good as Mou his….I doubt he will develop the team from within,he seems to want ready-made players…..let’s look beyond the sentimentality people,we sud go. For some1 like Heycknes
i think next season will be great for our club so aim high for next year all chelsea fans, catch u all good bye.
