Under fire Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that Chelsea striker Diego Costa was rushed to the hospital yesterday with what is suspected to be a rib problem. The Brazilian/Spaniard was seen clutching his side and was substituted off in the 33rd minute in the game Chelsea eventually lost 5-4 to Stoke City after regular time finished 1-1.
Speaking to pressmen after the match, Jose Mourinho was quoted to have said; “He is in the hospital – I don’t know.”
When the journalists probed further and asked whether the striker will be available for this weekend’s clash against Liverpool, Jose Mourinho bluntly replied; ” I don’t know”
Although the truth state of the injury sustained by the Spain international striker is still unknown, it is very likely that he will miss this weekend’s clash against Liverpool.
Mourinho asked how and when the injury happened ( obviously by a mischievious journalist ), the Portuguese sensing the mischief and probably not wanting to get into further trouble with the footballing authorities simply replied “I think he punched himself.”
He can’t get sanctioned for that can he?
