MASSIVE: Ross Barkley To REPLACE Oscar In January? Abramovich To Sanction Deal
With January transfer looming ahead, the Premier League defending champions are planning to bring in some player who will serve as reinforcement to their current team.
One area which Chelsea’s team have fallen below par this season is the midfield role. The trio of Namanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas and Oscar have failed to live up to expected.
Report last week had it that Oscar could be on his way to Juventus in January after failing to impress this season and one player who Chelsea could bring in to replace the Brazilian is Everton’s midfielder Ross Barkley.
The highly rated midfielder has been on sparkling form this season and a move for him in January could possible help Chelsea to fight for the top four positions.
Speaking to Starsport concerning the player, former Everton man Kelvin Kilbane believes the England star has come of age to play for EPL giants Chelsea and Manchester United.
“Is Barkley good enough for United or Chelsea? Yeah he is. Said Kibane
“I think Roberto Martinez would be quick to stress that he’s going nowhere and he wants to develop him as an Everton player.
“But he has that [level of] ability. When you watch him play, he can glide past players, he can pick passes out.
“He’s taken quite a bit of stick from the Everton fans over the last couple of years.
“That’s because he’s a young lad that is going to have inconsistent spells.
“He’ll have spells in games where he’s not going to be in the match, where you’re not going to see him.
“But this season we’re starting to see his skills and his level of performance has been outstanding. He continues
“He’s been involved with so many good things.
“If it’s not a direct assist he’s played a big part in the lead up to Everton’s goals quite a lot this season.
“If you’re talking about playing for one of the top sides of course he has that ability.
“He’s got power, he’s got pace, he’s two footed.
“He has that rare ability to change a game and bring it to life.”
With his talent, EPL experience coupled with the fact that he is an home grown player, a move for the 21-year old in January will definitely be a good one for Chelsea.
Although Everton may not want to sell their star midfielder in January, but we all know every player has a prize and Chelsea actually have the financial muscle to lure the star away from Everton if they really want to
