Shocking: "We Can't Afford Him" Boss Rules Out Move For South American Star
It seems Radamel Falcao purported move to Zenit St.Petersburg might have hit rock bottom with Zenit Coach Andre Villa Boas ruling out the move for the Centre forward according to Daily Mail.
Falcao wages could act as a stumbling block to the move according to Villa Boas. Despite accepting a pay-cut to join Chelsea, the player earns a reported £145,000 a week at the club and the Russian club can’t afford to add to their wage bill.
The former Chelsea boss said : “It’s difficult to bring such a player to Russia with the rules and regulations we have, we tried to bring him here in the summer at the start of the season, but then the rules changed a week before the season started. We can’t bring him here because of the rules and we don’t have space.
We have (Artyom) Dzyuba – he scored two goals, his form is great for the club and the national team and he deserves respect.”
Enduring a difficult spell at Chelsea, Falcao is being limited by regulations guiding the transfer of foreign players in the Russia league. He added “Due to the limitations we can’t bring Falcao here, his salary is immense too and the financial rules in place prevent this. This is the rule chosen by Mr (Vitaly) Mutko (President of the Football Union of Russia) and so this is impossible.”
Falcao have not find chances at Chelsea easy to come by with Mourinho preferring Diego Costa to the Colombian in his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation. Falcao has scored just a goal for the stamford Bridge Outfit this season.
