Two Times UCL Winner Signs For Chelsea, Reveals Why He Signed For The Blues

The news broke out on eve to Premier League starts that Chelsea manager has penned a new four years deal with Chelsea which will see him in charge of the Blues till 2020. The self styled Special One has gone on to explain why he has decided to sign a new contract with the Blues.

“If the club is happy, I am happy,” he said “I think this is a normal thing for me to sign a new contract. It is important we have this continuity and I hope we can enjoy more success in the future – for the fans, the players and the club.

“I said when I returned here two years ago that I have a special feeling for this club and nothing changed. It is the club closest to my heart and I am very happy to know I will be staying here for a long time.”

Mourinho who  is Chelsea’s most successfully manager first came to the club in 2004, in a stint that last less than three years during which he won the Premier League title two times, the then Carling Cup two times as well as one FA Cup trophy.

He left the club in controversial circumstance in the 2007 but made a return to the club again in 2013 having gone on to win the Champions League with Inter Milan and coached Real Madrid.

Mourinho signing a new contract with Chelsea is further prove that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is willing to go long term with the club. It seems gone are those days of hiring and firing managers. This is certainly a good development for the club as in the current world of football, stability is key.
