With just five days left to the close of the bi-annual transfer window, the teeming football fans awaits heavy rumours and heightened intrigues linking clubs to players over their transfer.
This time around, Stamford bridge outfit are on the verge of smashing British football record for one of the world’s brightest defender John Stones.
This according to reports from Daily Mail who claimed that Jose Mourinho has given the Blues’ deal maker to sign the highly rated Everton’s centre back before the weekend.
Chelsea have reportedly made previous bids of £20million, £26million and £30million for the young starlet but was rebuffed by the Mersey club. However, it understood that Chelsea are on the verge of doubling their initial bid of £20million (£40million) for the starlet’s signature.
Stones moved to Everton in 2013 from Barnsley for just £3million. It is reported that the Toffees boss Roberto Martinez confirmed yesterday that young star has indeed handed a transfer request in other to force his way out of Everton for a move to Chelsea.

Should the deal come through as stated, the 21-year old England international will become the most expensive EPL defender in history.
