Welcome To Stamford Bridge? 6ft Defender To Complete Chelsea’s Switch In January
With January transfer looming ahead, Chelsea are said to have highlighted top quality defenders as the target. A renewed bid for Everton defender John Stones would not be ruled out as Chelsea seeks to reinforce their back to stop considering cheap goals this season.
Another area Mourinho is believed to get cover is the right back position with only Ivanovic available for the position. Though Zouma has been a makeshift right back, transfer reports have it that out of favor PSG right back Gregory Van der Wiel.
The Dutch international is known for his pace and quality defending which saw PSG signed him from Ajax in 2012. He has represented the Dutch National team as well with 45 caps.
Van der Wiel addition to the Chelsea could help bring spark to the club who has relied heavily on Cesar Aspilicueta this season. Strong and full of attacking instinct, the player can also help solve Chelsea right back position problem if eventually signed.
An offer for the player has not been made public but it is a deal which the player himself would welcome as he has been displaced by Serge Aurier who has been preferred by Laurent Blanc coach of PSG.
