Welcome To Stamford Bridge? Mourinho Set To Complete Transfer Of 5FT 11 CB After Weekend WOE
Chelsea have yet again disappointed most of its large fans base across the globe, after just being able to secure a point from Newcastle United over the weekend at St James’ Park.
Although they came from a 2-0 down to make it 2-2 at the end of 90minites but the draw was still not convincing, given that the Magpies have not really been a team to reckon with this season.
Before the match, Newcastle United had just two points out of a possible 18 points and most Chelsea fans were hoping that the EPL defending champions would capitalize on their poor form and get the three maximum points needed to still be at the fore front of the title race.
However, reports from L’Equipe via Daily Star claims that Chelsea are readying a £7.2million bid for Marseille defender Nicolas Nkoulou as a possible replacement for skipper John Terry, after failing to secure the services of Toffees’ centre defender John Stones during the summer transfer window.
The 25-year old Cameroon international has impressed since signing for Marseille in 2011 and had made a total of 136 appearances for the French giants. Nkoulou is also a very versatile player who can play both at the centre back and also in the defensive midfield position.
Chelsea’s defense have been a shadow of what it used to be for about a decade now and this has been a major concern for the Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho who is now poised to strengthen its defends line.
Chelsea have conceded a total of 14 goals in just seven EPL games and only bottom-of-the-table Sunderland have conceded more than the Blues.
