Chelsea Make Urgent Move To COMPLETE Transfer Of Italian Super Star After Porto's Defeat
With Belgian shot stopper Thibaut Courtios still out injured for the next two months, latest report according to Daily Mail claims that free agent Marco Amelia who once played for Ac Milan has been invited for a trial at Chelsea with the aim of having him as a cover to the goalkeeping position, should anything happen to Asmir Begovic.
Although Young Chelsea goalie Jamal Blackman is available, Jose Mourinho is believed to be interested in bringing in another goalkeeper for a short time basis.
Another option for Chelsea could be the signing of former Barcelona shot stopper Victor Valdes. The 33-year old Spain international who has fallen out of favour with Manchester United Boss Louis Van Gaal, could have his contract terminated with the Red Devil for a possible move to Chelsea.
However, report also has it that Manchester United would not be willing to allow Valdes join a Premier League rival. Any imminent departure for the Spanish goalie would likely be in January whereas Chelsea seek a cover as soon as possible.
The possibility of signing Marco Amelia looks likely as Chelsea can still add to the squad since he was not connected to another club when the transfer window closed.
The 6 ft 3 inch Italian Shot stopper was part of the Italian squad that won 2006 FIFA World Cup and also participated in Euro 2008. Amelia became a free agent on 1st July 2014.
