Chelsea revive interest in Coentrao & make a final offer for Filipe Luis
Chelsea are reviving their interest in Real Madrid fullback Fabio Coentrao.
Chelsea are struggling to convince Atletico Madrid to part with Filipe Luis for less than his buyout clause and are now seeking out alternative targets.
Coentrao, who signed for Real while Blues boss Jose Mourinho was in charge, is under consideration.
The Portugal international signed a new deal with Real last season, but could be sold if the right offer arrives.
Chelsea also plan a final take-it-or-leave-it offer for Atletico Madrid fullback Filipe Luis. The Daily Express says they are refusing to pay Luis’ £19m buy-out clause and will instead make a final offer of £12m for the defender.
Facing financial difficulties, Atletico are insisting that the full fee is paid to trigger Luis’ release. It is the same stance Atletico took with respect to Diego Costa, who eventually joined Chelsea in a £32.5m deal.
Marcos Rojo is better option!
I don’t remember lots of Argentinian players at Chelsea. Many brazilians but few argentinians. Maybe only Hernan Crespo and Veron 8/10 years ago and most recently in 2008 Di Santo. Rojo is young and he’s a good player.
i think Luis is better than Fabio
