Chelsea Transfer News/Rumours Update – 16 January 2013

Reports in the German media have suggested the Spaniard could replace Jupp Heynckes as Bayern’s head coach at the end of this season, but a club spokesperson has dismissed the claims.

“These reports are utter nonsense,” Bayern spokesperson Markus Horwick told dpa.

2) Players hoping for Lampard stay : Lampard has been linked with a move to join Manchester United during the summer transfer window, but Chelsea FC goalkeeper Petr Cech is hoping something can be done persuade the hierarchy at Stamford Bridge to keep hold of the midfielder.“There are still six months to go to the end of the season,” said Cech. “We’ll see at the end of the season whether he stays or not.“I don’t know, as I’m not a director, but if he keeps playing like that then obviously he will keep asking about the extension.”

He added: “The team changed, his age has changed, but he’s still important for the team. You can see that he might not start every game, he might not play every game.

3) Iago Alpas to leave this month? :

Newspaper reports this week have suggested Chelsea are showing interest in Aspas, while Reading and Swansea are also believed to be keen.

And Celta coach Paco Herrera has conceded that the club could be forced to part company with the 25-year-old should his €10million buy-out clause be met.

The Spaniards are keen for Aspas to remain at the Balaidos Stadium, but Herrera was quoted as saying by Sky Sports: “It seems that there is the possibility of a club emerging that are willing to pay the clause.

“In that case, if the player wants to go, Celta will not be able to do anything.”

1) Mourinho back to EPL? :

The ‘Special One’ has also endured a difficult relationship with the Spanish media, and is believed to be considering his future at the Bernabeu.

And in a video message to the Football Association, which will form part of their 150th anniversary launch on Wednesday, Mourinho said: “There could not be a better place to go.

“In England you feel the real passion for the game. It’s not just about passion for clubs, it’s mainly about passion for football.

“My memories are great. I loved it from the first day to the last. I don’t regret my last day because after that I was lucky enough to enjoy Italy and to have and enjoy some success there and also in Spain.

“But I know that one day I will come back because English football means a lot to myself.”

2) Ben Arfa to Chelsea? :

Ben Arfa is unsettled at Newcastle and the Frenchman has hinted to quit in the summer with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal most interested in the winger/midfielder. Not much has developed since, but for sure we know that Chelsea are looking into buying him from Newcastle or getting him out ofcontract.

3) Piazon loaned to Malaga :

Lucas Piazon will join La Liga side Malaga on loan until the end of the season.

The Blues beat off competition from a host of European rivals to sign the 18-year-old from Sao Paulo, when he completed a move to Chelsea last January.

Piazon has made three appearances for the club so far – two in the League Cup and one Premier League outing in the 8-0 victory over Aston Villa in December 2011.
However, with first-team opportunities likely to be limited due to the stiff competition for places in the youngster’s position, with Eden Hazard, Juan Mata and Oscar all currently ahead of him, he will join the Spanish outfit.

Malaga currently sits in fifth spot in La Liga and will face Portuguese giants Porto in the last 16 of the Champions League in February.
