Confirmed By Club President: Chelsea To Complete Transfer Of €50m Rated Striker In January
Chelsea and other top teams interested in signing young Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi have been told to mass out €50m for his services.
This is according to Talksport which claims that Olympique de Merseille president Vincent Labrune has told interested club including Chelsea that only a fee around €50m would see the player leave the club in winter transfer window.
‘There is not a single top 15 world club that is not interested in Batshuayi. Said Labrune.
‘He is one of the most wanted players on the market. There were a lot of offers for him this summer, but he did not want to leave.
‘He is proving himself on the pitch. And if clubs want him then they are going to have to pay up. Around €50m!’
With the current goal drought at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho is reportedly in need of a striker. The sensational 22-year old is seen as a potential replacement for Radamel Falcao who is set to leave Chelsea in January after failing to impress.
Chelsea attacking trio in Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Falcao have only found the back of the net five times this season and their lack of scoring goals have affected the team’s performance drastically.
The Blues are currently 15 points behind league leader Manchester City and a move for Batshuayi could be on Mourinho radar come January.
However, Chelsea would have to battle fellow London rival Arsenal who are also keen on luring the striker to Emirate.
