CONFIRMED: Chelsea To Miss Out On THREE 1st Team Players Against Everton Due To Injury
Part of the Blues undoing to their shabby start of the season has been attributed to the injuries bedevilling some of their key players. Although the previous season wasn’t flawless in terms of injuries, but the injury record for the Blues was amongst the best in the Premier League.
This season is already looking differently and challenging – we take a swipe with an update of the players sidelined with Injury.
Thibaut Courtois:
The 23-year-old Belgium international damaged his medial ligaments during training session ahead ofthe Blues trip to Goodison Park – This news was confirmed by Mourinho when he faced the press. The former Athletico Madrid shot stopper displaced Petr cech on his return from a three-year loan. However, Begovic is expected to ably man the post in absence of Courtois.
Oscar:
The 24-year-old Brazilian was sidelined due to an unspecified knock during train session in the opening month of the Premier League season. Mourinho confirmed that the aforementioned player is short for a return this weekend but he might be in contention in the Blues Champions League opener next week
Bertrand Traore:
Meanwhile, Bertrand Traore didn’t make the trip ahead of Burkina Faso’s match against Botswana. The starlet picked up a mysterious hip injury but we hope it is not severe. He’s yet to make a Premier League debut, but he’s been named in the Champions League squad for Chelsea. No date has been specified for his return.
Gary Cahil:
The tenacious and tough-tackling centre back had his nose broken during a match for the Blues. It is left to be seen if he’ll still carry the protective nose mask but he is fit and in contention.
