Breaking News: Chelsea VS Everton: Costa OUT, Falcao To START, Boss CONFIRMS
After a disappointing start to the season by the EPL defending champions Chelsea, the Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho is set to change his tactics by starting summer signing Radamel Falcao ahead of Diego Costa in their EPL clash against Everton tomorrow.
This was made known by the self-styled ‘Special One’ during today’s press conference. Mourinho gave a hint that the Colombian international could start the game against the Toffees when asked if there is any possibility.
“Of course he has (a chance),” Mourinho said.
“When a player is on the bench and is coming in every game, because he’s coming (on) in every game that we play.
“He’s a player that is there. The difference between being on the bench and playing is not a big distance to be in the starting line-up.
“Yes, he works hard, he works very professionally every day, so yes he can start a game for sure.”
Falcao has come off the bench in all the Blues matches this season. He scored a stunning header the in Chelsea’s defeat to Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge last two weeks.
First choice striker Diego Costa has not really been clinical in front of the goal this season and as a result, he has only managed to score just a goal.
However, I think it would be a great development for Mourinho to test the waters by starting Falcao in tomorrow’s match as that could possibly make costa sit up and become better at scoring goals rather than picking up offenses with virtually every opposition defenders.
