Demba Ba – Chelsea's latest Acquisition!
After a few days of speculations, the rumoured move of Ba to Chelsea has been completed and was made official by the club earlier today. He has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the European Champions after having a great spell with Newcastle United. He played a major role for the Magpies last season, and was one of their best players. Thus, it goes without saying that it will be a huge loss for Alan Pardew and his team. Demba Ba with 13 goals in the Premier League this season is also a front-runner for the Golden Boot come end of the season.

He is eligible for selection for tomorrow’s FA Cup match against Southampton and also for Wednesday’s Capital One Cup semi final against Swansea. However, he won’t be able to play part in Chelsea’s Europa League campaign as the Senegalese striker has already featured for Newcastle in the same competition this season.
Before joining Newcastle, he had a short stint with West Ham but moved as the Hammers were relegated. The 27-year old striker has scored 36 goals in 71 appearances in the Premier League stretching his career tally to 106 goals in 212 appearances. He is also the first Senegalese player to wear the Chelsea shirt. He’ll be taking the No. 29 jersey.
In his first interview with the Club’s website he said : ‘It feels good to be here, I’m very happy and very proud,’
‘It was important for me, and for Newcastle, to get my future sorted and now we can move on. Now they have the whole month to buy someone and for me as well, the sooner the better. Now I am here I just need to get settled in.
‘When the club who won the Champions League wants you, the decision is very easy. This club is massive and that’s something that helped the decision a lot. It was not a hard one.’

What do you guys think about Demba Ba? Does he have what it takes to be Chelsea’s first choice striker? Can he keep Torres on the bench?
What a great signing
demba ba enseñale a torres como se remata , se juega con huevos y como se bajan balones en el aire
Hope he keeps Torres on the bench. I know he is capable. Hopefully, we can get falcao in the summer then we are set to seil the boat in years to come. CFC4ever.
falcao is most likely going to real madrid this transfer window so i think they should go for cavani or damiao
Let’s see what he does with the midfield behind him. I expect wingers to send in more crosses with this guy now.
He has what it takes to be our first choice striker he is good in the air n sharp, he doesn’t miss 1 on 1 chances lik torre.
I think Demba Ba’s first touch is better than Torres.
But he cant assist and you guys know it.its good if he plays well but we can still hope for torres cos he has been a brilliant player in liverpool.its all depends upon the form.ryt now ,he is out of form but who knows, may b after some rests,he can come bak as before.elnino.shine again n best of Luck for demba baa n welcome to chelsea world.
If Guardiola ends up at Chelsea,Ba will definitely leave and expect Neymar to come in. Even Torres will leave. Abramovich will probably do anything to keep the Spanish trainer happy. Who knows, maybe Guardiola can manage a team with real strikers.
But who knows? What if Mourinho joins?
He would love Demba Ba. He would love to set up the old robust and physical Chelsea again with Ba upfront. That would surely mean the end of Torres at Chelsea because apparently he can’t be a bench player.
I mean if Ba click for Chelsea it would be a really important factor in any success we achieve.
I agree,Shaurya. I have this feeling in my gut that Mourinho will manage Chelsea next season only because Guardiola will possibly reject Roman’s offer for the lack of stability at the club. Other than that,if you look at Ba and the amount of goals he has this season for Newcastle in the league. He managed that in a 4-4-2 system with arguably lesser players. If you ask me,I think he’ll be successful at Chelsea with the players he has behind him.
i think he can shine, but we must buy cavani or falcao in summer. Real Madrid will also try to capture one of them, so we have to act smartly.

Ba is way more better than that 50M waste…
I like d blues
It seems before mata n moses, this is d cheapest buy we’v had dat will b worth the money. Demba ba is prolific, he’s better off compared to present torres. One on one wit goal keepers, thru balls, aerial balls, shots, strength and heading d ball. He is not d perfect striker we need but surely he’s better off than torres in so many ways. Assuming di matteo had ba, some matches we wuldn’t hav lost or draw bcos we had supplies from mazacar but unfortunately, play pattern has changed n dats d reason players like oscar is struggling bcos he thrives more wit short passes than long passes. I dn’t hav much hope in benitez but we shuld jst rap up @ least a trophy b it capital one cup, FA cup, europa league cup or EPL. Now, marin n moses shuld operate from d wings now since we hav a ba dat can poke in goals wit heading. Its not gonna b perfect its urely gonna b way way way better than wat we’v had.
For my is a bad sign becose he is out for EL have to leave for AFCOM and he is not a striker for a top club like chelsea
debma
ba is a good single for Chelsea.
