With over 33 young stars loaned out of Stamford Bridge this season, Chelsea strategies of developing young stars seem not coming to an end anytime soon with latest report claiming that Chelsea have signed young England defender Josh Grant.
This was made known by Chelsea official TV that the Pensioners have given U18 captain Grant a two year professional contract having turned 17 on Sunday.
The young starlet started his football career with Chelsea at the U8 level and had since developed himself to becoming a better player. He initially started as a forward but his defensive quality was later discovered and he is currently playing through the right back position.
Grant was part of Chelsea’s youth team that won the FA Youth Cup last season, although he did not play but was part of the reserve team for both legs of the semifinals and finals.
The talented young star provided four assists against Swansea City at the Under 18 level past weekend and more of his display would be seen this season given that Chelsea TV have finally decided to broadcast U18 league matches.
