Fresh: Chelsea January Target Agrees FIVE Years Contract After Mourinho's Scouting Mission
Latest report reaching us claims that Chelsea’s winter striker target Andriy Yarmolenko has agreed a five year contract extension with his Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev that will run till 2020.
Report earlier had it that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was looking forward to bringing the sensational striker to Stamford Bridge, after an impressive display against Spain in Euro 2016 qualifier game during the international break.
It was said that Mourinho traveled to watch the game between Spain and Ukraine simply to see how the 25-year old star will perform, and to fuel the speculation, his Ukraine team-mate Taras Stepanenko said after the match: ‘I think Mourinho will be happy with what he saw from Yarmolenko’.
Speaking to Dynamo Kiev official website after signing the new contract, Yarmolenko said he could still play for top European clubs later in future when the need arises.
“I still want that [to test myself in the best foreign leagues]. I know that if Dynamo get really worthy offers we’ll find an option that satisfies everyone,” Yarmolenko told the club’s official website.
“I want the club to get good compensation for me. I could have left for free in a while, but that would have been wrong.
“I am 100 per cent a Dynamo player. Our team is like my second family. That’s why I keep doing my best to benefit the club.”
Chelsea would now have to find an altaernative to Yarmolenko given that it will be difficult to lure out the striker from his current club in January. The striker was however seen as a potential replacement for misfiring Radamel Falcao.
The powerful striker has scored a total of eight goals in thirteen appearances for Dynamo Kiev this season.
