This is last weeks top stories of Chelsea.

Monday

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that there is no recall clause in 20-year-old Romelu Lukaku’s loan deal at Everton

I found this in the Daily Mail. This is a bit of a bummer as we have made a mistake in letting him go out on loan we should of kept him. In my eyes the only reason he has gone on loan is because he missed the penalty in the SuperCopa Final.

Former Chelsea boss Avram Grant has questioned the way in which Jose Mourinho is marginalising playmaker Juan Mata

I found this in the Metro. I want a straight answer from Jose as to why he isn’t playing Mata who is arguably one of our Best Playmakers? He is our only Left-Footed attacker and we need him as he does make us tick and I think playing him more regularly with the new players will help massively and we can get back on track.

Juan Mata will be thrown a Chelsea lifeline in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday when he will play at Swindon Town, along with David Luiz, after both were axed for Saturday’s win over Fulham

I found this in The Sun. This isn’t much of a lifeline we should win against Swindon and if we don’t we need to take a long hard look at ourselves as to why we didn’t win.

Gary Cahill has lauded Jose Mourinho’s hard line approach after suggesting that one error will see you dropped by the Portuguese manager

I found this in The London Evening Standard. I thought this was happening at the club, however I do believe Cahill has nothing to worry about as he is Jose Mourinho’s new John Terry and they have been likened to each other ever since Cahill was seen playing for Bolton.

Tuesday

Jose Mourinho has challenged Chelsea stars Juan Mata and David Luis to prove themselves in the Capital One Cup at Swindon Town on Tuesday night

I found this in The Sun and the Daily Mail. I found this a little degrading but infairness it will probably fire them up to show Mourinho that he is wrong.

Juan Mata has accepted Jose Mourinho’s criticism – and is ready to knuckle down at Chelsea

I found this in the Daily Star. This is what people want to see that Mata accepts things said by Jose eventhough he has little weaknesses in his game.

Juan Mata will have an opportunity to demonstrate he is worthy of greater involvement in the Chelsea first team when the Spain international begins Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup tie at Swindon

I found this in The Guardian. He does deserve more involvement in the team and I do believe that the MaZaCar can be truly utilised to its full potential under Jose Mourinho

Wednesday

Chelsea are set to move for Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala, 22, in the January transfer window. Monaco are also interested in the France international centre-back

I found this in the Daily Mirror. I thought this move wasn’t going to go through as I thought Mourinho was happy with the Centre Backs he has.

Athletic Bilbao could move for Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta in January. The Spanish right-back, 24, has only made one substitute appearance in the Premier League this season

I found this in the Daily Express. I don’t think this will actually happen mainly because Mourinho thinks Dave is good but he believes Ivanovic has adapted better to the style of play Mourinho wants Chelsea to play.

Fernando Torres hopes his performance in the 2-0 win over Swindon in Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup tie will convince boss Jose Mourinho to make him the first-choice striker

I found this in the London Evening Standard. I think Torres has been our best striker this season so far, albeit Ba has played minimal minutes. Eto’o has had chances to score but hasn’t taken them. I think Torres should be our first choice Striker as he looks like the only striker wanting to fight for his place.

Thursday

Valencia are lining up a move to re-sign Juan Mata from Chelsea during the January transfer window. Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the 25-year-old midfielder’s situation

I found this in the Metro. I can’t see Mata leaving in January that would be him admitting defeat.

Midfielder Marco van Ginkel, 20, will miss the rest of Chelsea’s season after the injury he suffered at Swindon on Tuesday night was confirmed as a cruciate knee ligament injury

I found this in the Daily Mail. I feel sorry for the lad he’s out for 6-9months that not only his season gone but also his World Cup chances gone. I hope he has a quick and easy recovery.

David Luiz has told Jose Mourinho that he doesn’t need to prove himself on the pitch

I found this in The Sun. With a new manager you always have to prove yourself to them. You have to show why you should start before others, why you want to play and show him the desire to play.

Juan Mata says he is willing to play anywhere to convince Jose Mourinho he should be back in Chelsea’s starting line-up

I found this in the Daily Star. This is Mata’s burning desire to play for Chelsea, he played really well against Swindon, yes they are League One but in games like this they are fired up. Mata and Torres stole the show for me and with good performance from Luiz I’m sure Mourinho will have a few selection problems to make before we go to Spurs.

Friday

Chelsea want to sign France under-21 international midfielder Gianelli Imbula, 21, from Marseille

I found this on talkSPORT. Never really heard of him ao I cannot really comment on him, we’ll have to see what happens.

Jose Mourinho cried when he learned he was being passed over for the Manchester United job, according to a new book in Spain

I found this in the Guardian. I heard he was annoyed as before Madrid he was supposed to take over from Sir Alex when he retired but I think what happened at Madrid completely stopped that. I wouldn’t expect that Mourinho cried over this though.

Fernando Torres insists he is not behind Samuel Eto’o in the striker stakes at Chelsea

I found this in the Daily Mail. I don’t think this either form wise Torres is on top but any other way I believe these two are as good as eachother.
