Monday
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres, 29, is facing a four-game ban after being sent off against Tottenham for two bookable offences, with the Football Association set to review a separate incident when the Spain international appeared to scratch Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen
I found this in the Daily Mirror. Chelsea are supposedly going to challenge the red card and by the sounds of it the FA are going to cancel the red card but give him an extra match ban for ‘scratching’ Jan Vertonghen’s face.
Jose Mourinho is facing his first player rift since returning to Chelsea after banishing Kevin De Bruyne to the reserves
I found this in The Sun. I don’t think he has actually done this I don’t believe KDB has been sent to play with the reserves. Possibly just to get match fitness back or just to get match practice but not to stay there indefinately.
Jose Mourinho insists John Terry’s future at Chelsea is still bright
I found this in The Sun. I think he will get a new contract at the end of the season and I think he will still be around for at least 2-3 years before hanging his boots up.
Tuesday
Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, 22, is set for a January exit from Chelsea after being axed from their Champions League squad
I found this in the Metro. I think this is just talk KDB has been injured supposedly and he is just getting his fitness back that is all.
Jose Mourinho has given his biggest hint yet that Chelsea captain John Terry will be handed a new contract
I found this in the London Evening Standard. I think Terry will get a new contract if he stays fit and healthy this season.
Wednesday
Everton defender Phil Jagielka, 31, admits he tries to steer clear of team-mate Romelu Lukaku, 20, during training because the on-loan striker is such a handful
I found this in the Daily Mirror. Thank god we do not have to play Lukaku as I think he would descimate us.
Jose Mourinho stormed off with three points as Ramires inspired Chelsea to a Euro romp in Romania
I found this in The Sun. We played extremely well and deserved the win
Fernando Torres has escaped a ban for scratching Jan Vertonghen’s face and in doing so has opened the FA’s new disciplinary process to ridicule, less than two months into the season
I found this in the Daily Mail. Well in fairness I am a bit surprised about him not getting a further ban.
Ramires put Jose Mourinho back in the grinners’ enclosure last night with two goals in Chelsea’s Champions League rout of Steaua Bucharest
I found this in the Daily Express. Ramires was a stand out performer along with Andre Schurrle.
Chelsea fear that Fernando Torres will suffer a prolonged injury lay-off after damaging his left knee in the Champions League victory against Steaua Bucharest last night
I found this in the Daily Telegraph. He is out until just after the International break finishes which is extremely lucky for us. Unless Eto’o or Ba can start scoring I think Torres deserves the starting spot as he seems to have the hunger to score.
Juan Mata believes Chelsea’s development is already ahead of schedule under new manager Jose Mourinho and warned the club’s rivals that the best is still to come
London Evening Standard
Thursday
Italian champions Juventus are targeting Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, 20, who is on a season-long loan at Everton
I found this in the Daily Mirror. They will have to pay an arm and a leg for him. I can’t see him leaving though as he loves this club.
Chelsea could move for France international Benzema, 25, in January according to reports in Portugal
I found this in the Daily Express. No we shouldn’t he is at an all time low and even if we paid 10mill for him I still wouldn’t want him.
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres will only be sidelined for around three weeks, scans on his injured knee have revealed
I found this in The Times. Thank go only till just after the International break and he’ll be back.
Jose Mourinho has slammed claims he is the Boring One
I found this in The Sun. I don’t think he is, our team are playing more attractive football than the first time he was here but that’s because of the change in players from then and now.
Kevin de Bruyne is being offered a career lifeline by his former club Werder Bremen
I found this in The Sun. No he is just regaining match fitness.
