In the Papers: Chelsea Transfers and More

We have interesting stories this week:

Chelsea finally look to have landed Bayer Leverkusen’s Andre Schurrle.

I found this in the Sun. About bluddy time! Either we have him or we don’t 2 seasons this has been going on for and I am starting to get bored of it, really bored. I don’t mind if we get him he is good not great but can become great.

Jose Mourinho is lining up a shock move to take Steve Kean with him to Chelsea.

I found this in the Daily Mirror. I was a bit shocked at this but in fairness what anyone actually thinks I think he did a half decent job at Blackburn, before he was sacked Blackburn never looked like getting relegated from the Championship but at the end of the season they almost did without him if it wasn’t for Jordan Rhodes scoring all those goals they would hav gone down. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Juan Mata has warned Spurs that Chelsea will stop Gareth Bale and win the race for the Champions League.

I found this in the Daily Star. In this game we do really need calm, cool heads in the Pivot and I think we will need players who will be able to keep up with Bale. I think Ramires and Luiz possibly could do it as Ramires is just an endless running machine and I think Luiz has the tactical know how to stop him. I would say Mikel but I just don’t think he would be able to keep up with Bale.

Chelsea have gatecrashed Bayern Munich’s attempts to sign Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney and are ready with a £30m bid.

I found this in the Daily Mirror. I don’t think we should buy him. I know he is talented but his wages are huge and we don’t need that with FFP coming into play soon.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to offer 34-year-old midfielder Frank Lampard a new one-year deal.

I found this in the Daily Mirror. If Lampard is offered a new deal this really does point in the direction of Mourinho coming back as Jose loves Lampard and thinks he is one of the best proffessionals he has ever worked with. If a new deal is signed Jose is coming back simple as that. It was one of his demands for coming back.

John Terry and Frank Lampard are facing the ultimate Chelsea indignity with Rafa Benitez ready to leave them both out of the Europa League Final.

I found this in the Sun and Daily Mirror. I think if Rafa did do this he will have ruined all the work he has done by trying to make it up to the fans. These two should play as you will need their leadership above all else in this game. These two have been ever present in the Chelsea team in winning all these trophies.
