Just In:11 Goals Striker To Complete Chelsea’s Switch In January, Either Remy Or Falcao To Give Way
Currently on 16th position with just 11 points out of a possible 36 points, that’s where the EPL defending champions Chelsea have found themselves after a woeful starts to their season campaign.
Latest report from Daily Star claims that under-fire boss Jose Mourinho has decided to bring in Argentine sensational striker Gonzalo Higuain to Stamford Bridge, in other to compete with out-of-form Spanish striker Diego Costa.
The controversial Spaniard scored a total of 20 goals in his debut season for the Blues, but has found it difficult to replicate such form this season. The qualities Costa possesses are in no doubt but the hit man seems to have lost focus and concentration on finding the back of the net.
Hitting at every defenders that come his way seems to be a priority for Spaniard this season and Mourinho is keen in finding a top notch striker like Higuain to compete for the attacking role since Remy and Falcao has also found it difficult to impress.
It will be recalled that Higuain and Mourinho both worked together at Real Madrid and both are reportedly still very good friends. The Argentine striker has been on fine form for Napoli this season having scored 11 goals in 14 appearances.
The 27-year old striker found the back of the net 29 times last season. However, Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich would have to sanction the release clause of the Argentine if his team is to lure him away from Italy this winter transfer window.
