La Liga Winner To Complete Chelsea’s Switch? Plans Revealed By Journalist
Earmarked as a possible replacement for Jose Mourinho, Diego Simeone has refuted claims that he would be joining Chelsea as a replacement for the Portuguese.
Mourinho has endured a difficult spell at Chelsea this season and has been on the edge of recent to be the next coach in the EPL to be sacked. Simeone according to Daily Express denied claims that he was interested in moving over to London. Spanish notable journalist, Guillem Balague opined that he was opportuned to get first hand information from Athletico Madrid. He said:
“I was with Athletico Madrid last week and they assured me Diego Simeone is the Vincente Calderon to stay.
“The plan is that he stays for a long time and with the new contract it should guarantee he stays for a few years at least “.
Simeone led Atletico Madrid to La Liga title in 2013/2014 season.
It is believed that Roman Abramovich would be sticking to Mourinho to continue as Manager of the Club for the time being with the hope that the “Special one” would be able to turn around the season.Chelsea currently lied 16th on the log, making it the worst start to a their season.
