MASSIVE BLOW: Chelsea 6FT 6 Super Star Set To Miss Weekend Clash Against Everton
Chelsea shot stopper Thibaut Courtois is set to miss Chelsea next Premier League game against the Toffees this weekend due to injury suffered during training session at Chelsea’s Cobham training base on Wednesday afternoon.
It is reported that Courtois initially sustained the knee injury during the warm-up before Chelsea’s EPL opener against Swansea last month.
According to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws as per Mirror the former Atletico Madrid star maybe unavailable for more than one game. They claimed the 23-year old shot stopper is a doubt for their Europe 2016 qualifier game against Andorra and Israel next month.
Courtois returned to Chelsea in 2014 from a successful loan spell with the Colchoneros, helping them win the La Liga title and also helping them reach the finals of the prestigious UEFA Champions League in 2013/2014 season.
Although the Blues have a reliable back up to the Belgian international in summer signing Asmir Begovic, but reports have it that the Stamford Bridge outfit are keen on using Courtois as the player to man the post in this weekend clash against Everton and have decided that the 23-year old star will undergo intensive treatment to face the Toffees, and tests to analyse how serious the injury is.
Should Courtois be ruled out of this weekend game, it will definitely be a big blow to the Blues who are eight points behind league leader Manchester City, coupled with the fact that their skipper John Terry will also be out due to suspension.
