Chelsea are now set to complete the signing of defensive star Abdul Baba Rahman after reports claim Manchester city are also interested in the services of the young Ghanaian international.
The 21-year old star has been a major target for the Blues this transfer window since the departure of Felipe Luis to his former club Atletico Madrid. It is reported that Chelsea will now face stiff competition from the Citizens if they are to secure the signature of the Ausburg left back.
Chelsea failed to secure three maximum points in their first game of the season againt Swansea, mainly due to poor performance from Serbian international Branislav Ivanovic.
The 31-year old star seems to have lost pace and concentration after an impresive display for the Blues last season that earned him the post of vice captain for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Should Chelsea be able to complete the signing of Baba this week, Mourinho may have a re-think of pushing Cesar Azpilicueta to his traditional right wing while the Ghanaian international will occupy the left back position.
