Not Stones: PSG Enters The Race To Sign Chelsea's January Transfer Defensive Target
French giants Paris Saint Germain are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea and Manchester united target Seamus Coleman on a swap deal come January transfer window.
This is according to English press Daily Express who claims that the Ligue 1 champions PSG are looking forward to secure the services of the 26-year old right back.
Having seen how Chelsea were knocked back with their various bids for John Stones, the Perisian outfit are willing to strike a deal in excess of £20m and are also willing to use van der Wiel as part of the deal.
Coleman moved to Everton in 2009 for a fee of £60,000 from Sligo Rovers and has developed to becoming one of the best right back in Premiership.
However, PSG would have to go the extra mile to lure the Irish international from Everton with the Toffees boss Roberto Martinez insisting, he is not ready to accept offer for any of his key players in the nearest future.
“We may not have a Champions League budget but we’re a very big club with a great history and a fantastic future. Said Martinez to ESPN FC
“We want to be a winning team and that is what we are building here at the club.
“Keeping the main performers of the team that attempted that fourth-place finish in the Premier League two years ago and shared in some incredible memories in Europe last season will help us integrate all of our new signings and carry on reaching better levels of performance on a consistent basis.”
However, should PSG be able to secure the signature of Coleman in January, it will definitely be a big blow for Chelsea who are still keen on the player’s services with Ivanovic getting old and losing concentration and pace required in the fast game of EPL.
