On Chelsea's apparent "£50M bid" for Higuaín being rejected
The Telegraph recently reported that Chelsea have had a £50 million bid for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuaín rejected as Jose Mourinho tries to add some much-needed firepower to his attack.
Now why on earth would someone make or reject a £50m bid for Gonzalo Higuain? Offering that much amount of money or rejecting that amount on both Chelsea’s and Napoli’s behalves for a striker of Higuain’s caliber sounds so wrong. It has also been reported in the past that Higuain’s buy-out clause is £48m itself. Now, why would Chelsea offer more than that?
Higuain’s a very good striker but at the same time he’s not the high class pedigree we need at the moment. Higuaín has scored 9 goals in 16 league games since moving from Spain to Italy in the summer. Now many people would argue that he would probably do a better job than Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o this season but we also have to look at the bigger picture. We also have to look at Lukaku who’ll most probably be returning to Chelsea this summer and would be a very strong contender for that starting spot in Jose’s starting eleven. In my opinion, he’d suit Jose’s style of play way more than Higuaín and eventually he would be our main striker up front.
Yes, we do need a fantastic striker until then to compete with the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, United, Liverpool and Spurs who have alot of fantastic players upfront like Kun Aguero, Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney, Negredo, Van Persie, etc. For that role, Jose would much rather splash cash on a striker like Diego Costa or Robert Lewandowski than Gonzalo Higuaín. £50M for the Napoli danger man makes no sense to me and I’m pretty sure that there’s nothing concrete in these rumours as well. We need a striker like Costa or Lewandowski or Rooney on top not someone like Higuaín who’s no doubt a fantastic player. All in all, this is unlikely to happen. There’s no way Benitez would want to see his star man leave for Chelsea just after 4/5 months of fighting off the likes of Juventus and Arsenal to secure the striker’s services from Real Madrid for a hefty fee.
So to wrap things up guys, there’s no way Higuaín would join us this January. And talking about the likes of Diego Costa and Lewandowski; their purchases would depend on if or not we sell Juan Mata this month. Jose doesn’t want to sell Mata and Mata doesn’t want to force his way out so he might end up staying as well and I’m sure we’d all absolutely love that! There are very less chances of us getting a striker like Costa this January and if that doesn’t happen Demba Ba would also be staying until the summer atleast.
So guys do let me know what you think about all these reports and rumours linking Higuaín to Chelsea. Do you want him? What about Lewandowski / Diego Costa in the summer? Mata?
KTBFFH!
We don’t wants Higuian. We need Costa or Lewandowski

Now everyone knows we need s striker, I would think Lewandoski should be our top target. Remy is also another player who we should beautiful looking at, they’re both below £20m and can score.
Oh my god, we just not need him on any reasons.. I prefer Costa, Lewandowski, or maybe just call bamford or piazon from their loan.. Bamford is shining now
if will can hold to have lukaku and our lone stopper back i think nothing more we need. After all, none of all those team that have best striker can beat us, even they will, not easily. they all fear us all the time. what we need now is lucky.
Rumour or not,I don’t want higuain at stamford bridge. He will succeed because he is argentine(they are always good) but to what extent?and at what cost?do we need another Torres on our hand.
Well I know a lot of people will not like this but our only realistic option now is balotelli. All we need is to buy him to run out the season then bring back lukaku, torres and eto o,we can pair both upfront in a 4-4-2 formation but we must sell demba ba asap.I still like torres and feel we should keep him.He is learning the poacher instinct common with chelsea strikers.
Also the Midfielders are too selfish,Oscar being a big culprit. He always wants to impress the gaffer by dazzling and scoring same as hazard but they are amazing.Willian,OMG,he is the revelation of this season for us;His work rate, pace and manmarking skills is what every player should have.we won our last 2 games because of him!.simply put,our strikers must learn to communicate with our midfielders and vice versa hence we don’t need higuain.it is not clicking up front.
50??? too expensive.
