SHOCKING: Chelsea Set To Table Audacious Bid For 21-Year Old Ivanovic Replacement

It seems Chelsea defensive frailty would warrant a dive in the market as the transfer window looms ahead. Having conceded 17 goals already this season, the Blues must tighten their defence or continue shipping in goals which would not be good for team confidence.

Mourinho has identified a possible reinforcement with Marquinhos being in the radar. The highly rated  Paris Saint German centre back  considered to be the future of the club by club’s President Nasser Al-Khelaifi  could fancy his chances  with the reigning EPL champions.

The Brazilian international can operate as a right back or left back and even in central defence position which provides options for Mourinho who could use him at any position at the back with Branislav Ivanovic identified as the weakest link in the defensive set up.

Although a bid for the player was rejected during the summer transfer, the Blues with the backing of supremo Roman Abramovich might return in January with a much improved bid in order to lure their target away from the Paris club.

The back four of John Terry, Gary Cahill, Branislav Ivanovich and Cesar Azpiliecueta who proved difficult to penetrate last season; have been sloppy and unorganised this season and the pressure getting to the Manager who consistently changes his backline to get good defensive unit.

A bid in the region above of £30 million could be on the cards for the centre back.
