Welcome To Stamford Bridge – Powerful CB Arrives For Medical, To Complete Chelsea Move

If reports on the internet this afternoon is anything to go by, Chelsea have agreed personal terms and fee for high rated Nantes defender Papy Djilobdji and the player is set to undergo a medical at Cobham later today.

According to the report, the 26 year old centre back has agreed to sign a four years contract with the club and should his medical be successful, he will be announced as a Chelsea player later today.

John Stones was initially said to be Chelsea’s number one target for the centre back position as the Blues bid to replace club legend John Terry but Everton has flatly rejected all of Chelsea’s reported three bids for the player.

According to football insider sources, Jose Mourinho decided to sign the Senegalese international after his defense let in 9 goals in just 4 matches.

Djilobodji made a total of 183 appearances for Nantest in the ligue Un last season, he has 12 caps for the Senegalese national team as well.

Chelsea are reportedly going to be paying £2.8 million to acquire the player which is a good thing as if he does not do well in the premier league, Chelsea would not have wasted too much money and he could well be the signing of the summer if he does well.
