Wilfried Bony on Chelsea’s radar
In the current season, the main source of concern for Chelsea has been forward position. However Chelsea have been linked to a few strikers such as the Saint-Étienne ace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Atletico Madrid star Ramadel Falcao & the Vitesse sensation Wilfried Bony. So today I’ve got an article about Wilfried Bony being linked to Chelsea.
Vitesse are resigned to losing the 24-year-old, who has drawn comparison with Didier Drogba, this summer but first hope he will guide them to the Champions League. His current deal, signed in a £4million move from Sparta Prague in January 2011, runs until 2015. The Ivory Coast international is top scorer in Holland, with 26 goals in 24 league games.
However, West Ham have been highly linked to Bony and have reportedly placed a £12 million bid for the signature of the hottest young talent in Dutch football this summer. Chelsea are planning to hijack West Ham’s £12million move this summer. The Hammers thought they were close to agreeing a record-breaking deal to nab him in the summer. Co-chairman David Sullivan met one of the player’s agents, London-based Francis Kacou, on Monday.
But, Chelsea see the free-scoring forward as a potential replacement for Fernando Torres and hence made their move later that day. Jose Mourinho, touted to return to Chelsea from Real Madrid in the summer, was at Stamford Bridge that night for the friendly between Brazil and Russia. Also present were Vitesse owner Merab Jordania, who has close links with Roman Abramovich, and Erwin Kasakowski, managing director of the Dutch club.
Chelsea have a working relationship with Vitesse and seven Chelsea youngsters have gone there on loan in the past two seasons. Chelsea are now in pole position to seal a four-year deal for him worth £80,000 a week. Fulham have also been linked to Bony.
Bony told Czech Republic newspaper Pravo: “If they want me, it would be a great honour. I would be glad to go to such a club. I love English football and wouldn’t be afraid to play there. Chelsea are a top club. I know that Chelsea and Arnhem are close and some of the Chelsea lads are here on loan, including Tomas (Kalas). I have discussed it with him many times already.”
Reason why I would pick him over Ramadel Falcao:
1) All big money strikers at Chelsea have been flops such as Hernán Crespo, Andriy Shevchenko and now Fernando Torres.
2) Bony would cost us around £12m and according to various articles which I’ve gone through Athletico want transfer fee as high as £52m, I’ve also read stories about Chelsea ready to offer Thibaut Courtois plus cash for Falcao which would be a waste of a deal.
3) Falcao is 27 and Bony is 24 so Bony could have a longer playing career.
4) Chelsea would have to pay Falcao a wage of £220,000 a week where as, Bony would be paid £80,000 a week. (Wages are according to the various articles and stories I’ve been reading.)
I would love to see Bony joining Chelsea this summer as Chelsea would be saving a hefty transfer fee of they sign him instead of Ramadel Falcao. I saw a few videos in which I really loved the way he played and I feel he would develop a lot more in the Premier League. He could have a lot of goal scoring opportunities Chelsea due to our creative playmakers like Juan Mata and Eden Hazard.
Would Bony be able to break the striker jinx at Chelsea? Leave your thoughts below, I would love to hear from you’ll.
KTBFFH!
buying bony will give chance for calling back romelu and rotating ba also. If we purchase falcao at that world shaking price. We will wanted to give him every playing chance like we did for torres this season and that will prolong the coming back of Romelu and it will aid the rusting of ba on the bench. I wish we get him because of his quality and it will give us instant result, well for another six year which will be good for us. I think for us to bring in falcao we will continue loanin Lukaku till falcao left. Bony will be a prefered signing for us in many ways but for instance result or another regret falcao will do.
mean ‘ instant result:
Exactly you were spot on with the Lukaku point there. Thanks for your feedback. 🙂
Absolutely spot on mate. I agree with all the above points you mentioned there. I bebieve Bony could be a prolific striker in the Premier League. Someone like Suarez and our very own Drogba. If he doesn’t then we could at the max deal with a 12-14 million flop. We surely can’t afford another 40-50million man flop like Falcao.
Plus, we could use the remaining funds to bring in lads like Luke Shaw, Fellaini/Isco, etc.
Amazing, love d way u mentioned d points below der hope u write some more articles soon!
Bony will be of great advantage for us if we eventually signed him, I see no reason why chelsea will like to go for a top strikers instead of developing all our youth strikers and get them into the senior team. The likes of Lukaku is a typical example of a player chelsea need to watch out for.
To me, I root all the way for Bony and I know definitely well that the young lad will play whole heartedly for my darling team “chelsea”.
One thing I know about African players, they use to play with all their minds, and make sure they fight for their place in any team they find themselves. Though I’ve not watch him play ever bt I feel like the guy will fit in our style of play and will play beautifully well for us.
I prefer Bony to Falcao for many reasons
i wish all these responses will get to the board of directors. I never supported buying Falcao above £40m and with a weekly pay above £140,000. Let us get this guy, it will give to players like Feruz whom given a good guidance will be far better than Falcao in 4years time.
Pls.somebody should let dis into RA deafening hear cuz i don‘t know d man‘s problem i‘ve watched dis guy playin‘ several times and very good on ball his technicality on ball are always eye-catching if @ al given a chance he‘ll surely develop in to world class player pls.roman suld be adviced.he should know dt buyin‘ mouth-watering striker doesn‘t work 4 him.
he would be a good addition to our team, his relatively cheap. I don’t see why we should spend 50m on one striker when we could get 3 or more with the same sum, Bonny is strong, a bit fast and can finish with both feet. Chelsea pls don’t spend 50m on one individual
Bony will be a fantastic investment. We could use the huge amount of money to sign him and another striker this summer instead of spending 50m on a striker Falcao. I saw his videos he is a good striker and will only get better at Chelsea hope we secure his service come this summer.
Would love to see Bony and Ba/ Lukaku in attack next season.
Totally agree would take bony over falcao anyday. Not also that it would free up other cash to bring in couple more eg Isco and pjanic or lovren!!!
I think if we were to buy great. Amazing strike force of Bony, Ba and Lukaku. BUT, what happens when its AFCON then we are left with only Lukaku. We have buy another if we get Bony or have another who is ready to step up.
Thus an ideal deal. A saving.
4 example Ba and Torres.
Ba cost d blues 7 million see wat he has been doing in d attacking lines creating chances 4 his team mates gud in bot air and on ground.
D only forward i wish chelsea shud buy is dat guy BONY nt falcao.
BONY-LUKAKU-BA next season would b beta dan ROONEY-VAN PERSIE-HERNANDEZ-WELBECK.
Cos d blues striker would b stronger dan den in stature and ability only technics.
I hope som1 can giv RA som little advise and if Mourinho is d man i wish he 2 can buy Bony rather dan Falcao and as we all knows he is in shock move 4 falcao and dats d problem and if chelsea retained Rafa he is d only man dat i knew he can buy cheap players lyk bony dan falcao.
Only God knows wat we hapen next season and all we ave 2 day is to wait and see wat RA will do here.
Buy Bony, bring back lukaku, sell Torres he is a flop.If my lovely blues can also bring contrao left back coz cole is geting old, next season barclays is ours i wish R.A wil read this & thanks….
we need him cuz we are building a team for de future considering his age juz 24yrs than that of el tigre 27yrs UP DE BLUES
Let buy him, he will not be a wast like others.
