Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is pressing ahead to sign Atletico Madrid fullback Filipe Luis.
The Daily Star says Mourinho has wasted no time in finding a suitable replacement for Ashley Cole and is close to clinching a £20m deal for Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis.
Filipe Luis is also expected to be joined at Chelsea by his Atletico team-mates Diego Costa and Tiago.
Filipe Luis is also eager to quit Atletico Madrid for Chelsea. Marca says his buy-out clause stands at €24m and he is in talks with Atletico to drop the price so to help smooth negotiations with Chelsea.
However, Atletico’s board have so far resisted the request and are unhappy with the Brazilian’s demands.
Atletico pair Diego Costa and Tiago Mendes, two of Luis’ best friends inside the locker room, are already on their way to Chelsea this summer.

I am a lover of happy endings and it pains me shaw is probably never going to play for chelsea fc as he is signed to one of our greatest of rivals.Too bad Chelsea FC lost out on Luke Shaw who is also a Chelsea fan.I would have preferred an 18 yr old Luke shaw worth 30 m euros to a 28 yr old Luis worth 20 m euros.

Don’t sign h simply because of his age and price, we have Patrick Van Annolt who certainly deserves a call back and Ryan Bertrand too.

F Luis is not a good deal based on his age and it seems that he doesn’t have much room to grow. But if you think from the point of view from Mou, as last year we don’t have trophy, his pressure is very high this season (should be say the first half season) as he also afraid of losing his job. Van Annholt is good at loan out last season and have future at The Blue but Mou wants to find some players ready to give their most to the team.This explains why a lot of our young talents have been loaned out and not keep at our team. For F Luis, he played for a top team world class last season, to Mou it’s a better bet than a player played at 2nd tier league (Van Annholt).
We need to use our young players

He is a good defender. Fast with good feet and attacking. 2 – 3 year player while our young guys grow up. This is a smart move… He does not get outrun, so he is not too old. If we were looking at him as a 5 year back, that would be a bad move. But this is a good move.
We want to win and we cannot win with the wrong package. Luis Filipe is the left back in the world so Chelsea must win all titles this year. Show Bayern Munich that they are not world champion. Maybe they can beat Brazil and Argentina but they going down to Chelsea.
