“I Will Join Chelsea Rather Than Manchester City” Said High Rated Midfielder
The Belgian wonder kid and brother to Eden Hazard, Thorgan Hazard have expressed his desire to join Chelsea instead of Manchester City.
The attacking midfielder was signed by Chelsea from Lens but was later sent on a season – long loan move to Belgian Pro League Club Zulte Waregem.
Having starred at the club, Chelsea agreed to loan him to Borussia Monchengladbach in July 2014. The prolific midfielder shone brightly for the German side and the loan deal was made permanent with a reported transfer fee of €8 million and a buy back agreement with Chelsea.
In an interview before the game against Manchester City, Thorgan Hazard said he did play for chelsea rather than Manchester City when asked if he could follow the foot step of former Chelsea star Kevin de Bruyne who have had more or less similar careers.
“Let’s say, up until now, our careers look quite similar. If I could follow the same path, that wouldn’t be too bad. However, I’d sign for Chelsea rather than Manchester City.”
“I’ve never really been drawn to City. They’ve become a great club, very powerful, but before, they didn’t make people dream that much. Today, they’re a team that play well, who produce good football, with many attacking players who link up well together.”
Borussia Monchengladbach finished third last season in the German Bundesliga with Hazard contributing immensely to the team.
Although a current player with the German side, his long love to play for Chelsea was expressed when he signed for the club reiterating his desire to one day play for the London team.
In the interview, Hazard stated ‘I am focusing on excelling at Borussia Monchengladbach, but I still hope to play for Chelsea one day”.
