Stones, Telles? MOU Finally Confirm Signing Defensive Star
Having allowed Felipe Luis to leave the club on a permanent move to Spanish giant Atletico Madrid, it is now certain that Jose Mourinho’s side would be looking forward to recruit more players to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Speaking ahead of their pre-season match against Barcelona, the Blue boss admited the need for Chelsea to sign new defender before the close of summer tansfer window.
“Defenders I have to give 90 minutes to because at this moment I have only five. Between the five we must have four on the pitch and so for the defenders I have to do it,” said Mourinho to club’s official website
Chelsea currently have just five established defenders, in likes of John Terry, Gary Cahill, Branislav Ivanovic, Cesar Azpilicueta and Kurt Zouma, and would have to fend four of them at the defence line having just one left in the reserve – which would not be good for a team that wants to compete for four major trophies next season.
Everton youngster John Stones and Galatasaray left back alex telles seems to be the solution to chelsea’s defensive shortage, with rumours linking both stars to SW6.
An official bid of £20million had been made to Eveton for their 21 years old England international but the offer was rejected and according to reports, the Blues are set to up their bid to a region of £26milion to get their man.
